Day One

I feel kind of dumb for starting a blog like this. I don't plan on telling anybody, but I had a great idea for a book I wanted to write, so I thought this might help me organize my thoughts. I'm actually not substituting today. I looked online this morning and all the sub postings were for special ed. Not that there's anything wrong with subbing special ed., but it takes a special kind of person to do it and I don't think that would be good for me.

My name is Corey. I'm 24. I graduated in December '07 with a BS in history. I was 21. I graduated in May '09 with my masters degree in Education. I was the mighty ripe age of 23. I wanted to teach middle school history. Unfortunately, right after I graduated my grandmother passed away. That was a rough semester for me, so I didn't get my resume's out at a good time- when the school's are hiring. I couldn't get a job. I already worked at JCPenney, so I figured I could keep working there until I found a teaching job for the 2010-2011 school year. I got my substitute license in January 2010. I thought that going around to school's on a daily basis might help me make contacts in the area. I quit JCPenney a week ago. I'm now a full-time subs. I'titute (on days when I can find a job). So far I've substituted about 6 times. The most memorable so far were when I subbed first grade (I had three little girls start crying at the same time) and 7th grade English (They were throwing things across the room and hitting each other. I was forced to call the office and get the assistant principal to pull two boys out of class)
